As an intern, I would have never in a million years thought that I would be apart of such a great campaign, but here I am and here it is: The road to the VMA’s.

My first introduction to Clean & Clear was when I was briefed on the Pretty Little Liars social posts. As someone who never bought into the PLL hype, I quickly got re-aquinted with this world for week after week of fast and furious social creation.

Though the timelines were tight and learning curve never ending, it quickly became one of the most fun accounts to create for with the engagement results getting better and better each week.

As PLL finale came and went, America’s Best Dance Crew All Stars: Road to the VMA’s came. As a dancer and creative the excitement was too real. It was the first time I got to incorporate an influencer as well as flex my copywriting/inner dance fan girl side.

All of this initiative was a road to a bigger campaign, the one we’re here to talk about. #SelfAcceptanceSpeech. Weeks and Weeks were prepped for this campaign to go live at the VMAs. Numerous war room meetings, hours of researching the odds of winners and pop culture background to find opportunities to slip in message, drafts on drafts of ideas of extensions and responses lead to the night of: The Twitter Newsroom night.

As we all sat, prepped and ready to go, it started and so did the spontaneous creation covering this campaign.

And in the craziness of what the 2015 VMAs was, our spot aired. And in those few minutes of airing the responses rolled in…great responses. To which we had a vault of applause gifs in true Clean & Clear style ready to go. (of which I’m proud to say I had a major part in)

This great response didn’t stop that night, but continued the next day with media coverage.

What an exciting chapter, huh? And something notable enough to want to remember how we got here (which is why it came to live in blog form first). What a great thing to be a part of and an even greater team to behind: a family, The C&C family of DDB. I’m So grateful to have been able to find my growth with such a supportive group of people and I’m really excited to see where we go from here.

Great things on the horizon people.

Project page to come.
